Pastry Production Assistant

Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated assistant baker to join our team at Doe Coffee! As a Pastry baker you’ll prepare high-quality dough for our pastries and baked goods, ensuring consistency and excellence in every batch. This role is ideal for someone passionate about baking and eager to contribute to a collaborative kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and mix dough according to established recipes and specifications.
• Ensure all ingredients are measured accurately and mixed thoroughly for optimal results.
• Monitor dough consistency, adjusting ingredients as necessary to achieve desired texture.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
• Assist in the baking process, ensuring that all baked goods are produced efficiently and meet quality standards.
• Coordinate with the head baker and other team members to meet daily production goals.
• Package finished products for sale, ensuring proper labelling and presentation.
• Assist with inventory management and inform the bakery manager of any shortages or quality concerns.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a bakery or similar environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficient in using a dough sheeter.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
• Availability to work early mornings, with flexibility for part-time or full-time shifts.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• A passion for food preparation and commitment to delivering high-quality products.
